About

Chris and Sue are both Senior Assistant Youth Workers (hence our sayw blog) working for Oldham Youth Service.  After a highly motivating presentation from DK at mediasnackers.com they both decided to write a blog about the goings on within the centres in which they work.

With stories about alcoholic drain cleaner, scary marys and tubby tasters working with young people, whilst highly motivating,  rewarding and satisfying, its what we hope will be some good reading.  With similar working styles, sense of humour and approaches to youth work Chris and Sue both often find innovative ways of running activities to help young people resolve there day to day issues.  With a collective experience of 22 years working with young people both in the statuary sector and voluntary sector both have a wealth of stories to tell.

The idea of this blog is not only to help with the promotion of good practice and offer ideas for solutions to problems that may occur in centres around the country, it is also Chris and Sue’s coping strategy with the stress and strains of Youth Centre tribulations.  No offence is meant by the tales, and we hope all that read this take it in the manner that it is intended.
